The article will soon be available in the British Medical Journal - Open.

Here’s a photo of all four co-authors (from left to right Veronica Kennedy, Deb Hall, Haula Haider and Agnieszka Szczepek) taken at the recent WG5 management meeting.

Over two days (27-28 August 2015), 20 members of TINNET participated in activities and planning for Working Group 5. Thanks for Prof. Birgit Mazurek and Dr. Agnieszka Szczepek for being such welcoming hosts at the Charité University Hospital Berlin, and to Dr Alain Londero for his role as co-chair.... and thanks to all participants for such lively and stimulating debate.

Antonio MD kleinA new paper about the diagnostic criteria of Menière's disease just appeared. The paper published by Lopez-Escamez et al. represents a consensus of several international societies, namely the AAO-HNS, EAONO, Barany Society, Japan Society for Equilibirum Research and Korean Balance Society [pdf].

EFAS2015On Friday 29 May, Deb Hall has been leading an invited session on Tinnitus as the 12th Congress of The European Federation of Audiology Societies (EFAS) in Istanbul. The session included invited talks that cover a range of topics including hidden hearing loss (Plack, UK), the Autifony Therapeutics drug pipeline (Large, Italy), sound-based therapies (Hall, UK) and EU research partnership TINNET (Haider, Portugal).  See http://efas2015.eu/ for more details.

Recently, a new article about the TINNET project appeared in Trends in Hearing: Hall et al. 2015: "Toward a Global Consensus on Outcome Measures for Clinical Trials in Tinnitus: Report From the First International Meeting of the COMiT Initiative, November 14, 2014, Amsterdam, The Netherlands". Trends Hear. 2015 Apr 24;19.

Ms. Agnieszka Szczepek, Berlin, Germany, performed her research activities at the National Institute for Health Research Nottingham Hearing Biomedical Research Unit, Nottingham (UK) in March 2015 for the Short Term Scientific Mission "Developing expertise in systematic review Methodology and strengthening European collaboration across TINNET".
